What is supplication in Islam? | Noor Academy

What is supplication in Islam?
In sad or uneasy times, we turn to Allah for help. He heals our hearts and souls from the world’s haziness. Supplication and du’a are our means of healing. Remembering Allah purifies and guides us. It takes us out of obscurity.

Allah’s prophet, Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:

Don’t have a conversation as well much without recognition of Allah. Indeed, excessive talking without recognition of Allah hardens the heart. And indeed, the farthest of individuals from Allah is the harsh-hearted.

What is the definition of supplication in Islam?

Dua and supplication in Islam are the Muslim’s weapon. They are the best way to come closer to Allah. Allah said in the Sacred Quran that he will reply to our call. He will do so when we call for help.

Allah said within the Quran, almost every supplication.

When My servants ask you, a question arises about My presence. I respond to the supplication of one who invokes Me. Let them heed my call and receive my words to find guidance. [Qur’an 2:]

In another verse, Allah also told the prophet to say, “I call only to my Ruler and do not join with Him, anyone.”

20]. Here are a few daily prayers you should recite.

What is the difference between dua and supplication?

There is no difference between Dua and supplication; they are both the same.

What is the importance of supplication in Islam?

We can see the importance of supplication in the following verse of the Holy Qur’an:

قُلۡ مَا يَعۡبَـؤُا بِكُمۡ رَبِّىۡ لَوۡلَا دُعَآؤُكُما

Say to them, “O Muhammad”: “My Lord would not care for you were it not for your prayer.” (25:77)

From this verse, we notice how Allah takes care of the supplications of the believers.

Supplication is what we use to turn to Allah and ask for His help, forgiveness, and to express gratitude to Him. Even if we want to ask Allah to make our dream come true, we will use Dua.

Supplication is what brings us closer and connects us to Allah. We are always in need of Allah, Who would never change.

But, if You know it to be bad for me in my religion, my life, and my end, then stop it and keep me from it. Instead, decree for me what is good, wherever it may be, and make me happy with it.

15- Morning and Evening Duas

Evening and morning supplication in Islam (dua) means saying the Azkar. You should recite them daily to protect you against evil. Here are some of them.

  • Evening Dua (If it’s the evening then you should say):

We have reached the evening. Now, Allah owns all sovereignty. All praise is for Allah. Direct worship only towards Allah. He is alone, without a partner. All sovereignty and praise belong to Him. He is over all things and all-powerful. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this night and the good of what follows it. I take refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what follows it. My Lord, I take refuge in You from laziness and senility. My Lord, I take refuge in You from torment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.

In the morning, you will replace the word “evening” with the “morning”.

  •        In the mornin’ say:

اللّهُـمَّ بِكَ أَصْـبَحْنا وَبِكَ أَمْسَـينا ، وَبِكَ نَحْـيا وَبِكَ نَمـوتُ وَإِلَـيْكَ النِّـشور

O Allah, we have reached the morning by your leave. And, we have reached the evening by Your leave. We live and die by Your leave. And You will resurrect us.

O Allah, we have reached the evening by Your leave. We have reached the morning by Your leave. We live and die by Your leave. We will return to You.

  •  If you are seeking for forgiveness then recite the following supplication:

O Allah, You are my Lord. None has the right to be worshiped except You. You created me and I am Your servant. I abide by your covenant and promise as best I can. I take refuge in You from the evil I have committed. I acknowledge Your favor upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sin except You.

  •  Another important Dua is:
