Dua Qunoot | Noor Academy

dua qunoot
Dua, duaa, or supplication (Arabic: دعاء‎) is the Islamic term for the act of supplication. Dua( Supplication ) is worship, it is recourse and supplication to Allah, it is a success, success, and success, it is the link between the servant and Allah, helping in the resolution of our problems.
During hard times we all need something to do in order not to feel helpless or stuck. In Islam, there are many things we could resort to but a very underrated act is dua. Although dua is not compulsory like salah or the five basic prayers we do every day, it has an amazing impact and it can change the course of lives entirely, unlock doors, opportunities, and much more. Dua is like magic but better it is for real.
What is Dua?
Dua translates from Arabic to English as a prayer but unlike the regular prayer, it is a prayer in the form of direct talk from man or woman to Allah.

Dua is simply opening your heart and talking directly to Allah about anything, asking him anything, and addressing him directly by any of his names.
dua meaning
1- To raise your hands in humility and submission to Allah, In him, you acknowledge your weakness and ask of him your need, supplicate in him whatever you want, wherever you are, and in whatever case you are able.
2- It is given with success, insight, closeness to Allah sincerity, sincerity of intention, contentment, and reverence.
3- Memorizing a person throughout his life, supplicating during his stay and during his travels, at the beginning and at the end of the day, before and after eating, when sleeping and waking up, and at all times.
4- Comfort, peace, happiness, joy, and elation, in which you transmit everything that stirs in your chest, you ask the Creator for mercy and forgiveness, you ask for protection and preservation, you ask for a decent life,
5- Everyone needs it: the healthy and the sick, the rich and the poor, the relaxed and the anxious, the old and the young, the male and the female.
6- In it is the good of this world and the hereafter, in it is a blessing, in it is wellness, in it is assistance, and in it is relief and safety.
7- With him, man will always be dependent, connected, and seek help from Allah alone.
8- Healing for hearts and happiness in both worlds, when you pray, remember that you are praying for the King of Kings and who has the kingdom of everything.
9- A great reason to solve our problems and improve our conditions and to prevent all evil and bring every benefit
The importance of Duaa in Islam
Dua is very important in the life of Muslims because Dua is like a conversation with Allah Almighty in which we put our needs before Him and ask His help in the resolution of our problems. Dua is not only a submission about our need before Allah Almighty but it is a form of worship as well
Allah said in surah Ghafir verse 60 :
And your Lord says: “Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer): but those who are too arrogant to serve Me will surely find themselves in Hell – in humiliation!”

Waqala rabbukumu odAAoonee astajib lakum inna allatheena yastakbiroona AAan AAibadatee sayadkhuloona jahannama dakhireena
He also mentioned in surah Al Baqarah verse 186:
“When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may walk in the right way.”

“Waitha saalaka AAibadee AAannee fainnee qareebun ojeebu daAAwata alddaAAi itha daAAani falyastajeeboo lee walyuminoo bee laAAallahum yarshudoona”
Forms Of Dua in Islam
Usually, many known Duas were taught to us by the prophet Muhamed. We use them in prayers, azkar, and certain situations. There is a dua for almost everything in Islam. For waking up, for going to sleep, after buying new clothes, before dawn, before night and the list goes on.

And most certainly there is a very particular dua for Hard times and times of plagues, famine, and general tough times. This dua in Islam is called dua qunoot.
What is dua qunoot?
The word Qunoot can translate to piety. Meaning it means surrendering to Allah, Acknowledgment of servitude, and performing acts of obedience that do not involve disobedience. While dua Qunut means a certain dua said in tough times.

There are two known forms of Qunoot dua, the first was recited by Prophet Muhammed during Witr prayer. The second one he recited during Fajr prayer when there were tough times and very unfortunate events.
Dua e Qunoot for witr prayer:

dua qunoot tafseer
O Allah, guide me with those whom You have guided and grant me wellbeing with those whom You have granted wellbeing. Take me to Your care with those whom You have taken to Your care. Bless me in what You have given me. Protect me from the evil You have ordained.

Surely, You hold the command and are not commanded, and none whom You have committed to Your care shall be humiliated. And none whom You have taken as an enemy shall taste glory. You are blessed, Our Lord, and Exalted. All I praise is upon You for what You decide. I seek Your forgiveness and I repent unto You.

Oh, Allah, I seek refuge in You from the distress of trial, from the lowest level of misery, from the perversity of fate, and from the malicious rejoicing of enemies.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the withdrawal of Your blessing and the change of Your protection (from me) and from the sudden wrath of You, and from every displeasure of You.

O Allah, lift from us the calamity, the pandemic, the disasters, and the tribulations, of which is apparent and which is hidden, especially from our country and other countries.

O Allah, grant us and the countries around us the safety of our well-being.

O Allah, grant victory to the oppressed in all places.

Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. And Peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and all his Companions.
