Dua for Entering the House
This is a Dua you may recite upon entering the house:
Translation: In the name of Allah we enter, and in the name of Allah we go out, and in our Lord we trust.
Explanation: The idea is to remind a person to seek Allah Almighty’s blessings and protection or, in other words, take His name and now go out.
Transliteration:
Translation:
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no power and no strength except with Allah.
It guards from Allah and lets the person be guided throughout the day.
What to Say When Entering Someone’s House in Islam?
When someone in Islam enters others’ houses, he shall say, hypothetically:
It goes thus in transliteration to English: As-salamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
This salam discharges the sunnah and brings peace and blessing to the people of the house.
Even if a person finds nobody there to enter a house, he should issue this greeting, because some angels are always present in every house who hear the salam and give a reply to it.
You may also read the following upon entering your or somebody else’s home:
Arabic:
Bismillah we enter and in the name of Allah we leave and upon our Lord, we place our trust.
Dua to Read When Entering a New Home
Following is the dua that can be recited when you are endowed with a new home:
O Allah, I ask for the best of entry and best of exit. In the name of Allah we enter and in the name of Allah we go out, and in our Lord we trust.
What Dua is Read to Acquire a House in Jannah?
This is the dua that can be recited to get a person a house in Jannah:
Transliteration:
Allahumma inni as’aluka al-jannata wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw ‘amal.
Also from a very short list, there is that which the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, encouraged the people to pray when asking for a place in Jannah:
Allahumma ibni li ‘indaka baytan fil jannah.
O Allah, build for me, near You, a house in Paradise.
This dua was made by the wife of Pharaoh, Asiya, in the Quran, 66:11. It’s a superb prayer in which man requests God to place him near Jannah.
Which Surah is Good for The House?
There are a few Surahs of the Holy Quran that Muslims think to have been baraka, hifazat, and sukoon for the house.
Some of the Surahs, of which the importance of their reading is tantamount, are as follows:
1. Surah Al- Baqarah.
It is narrated that Prophet Muhammad used to recite Surah Al-Baqarah in his house; whatever you recite this, then Prophet Muhammad said, “Do not make your houses like graves; for the devil runs away from a house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is heard” (Sahih Muslim).
So, if you read this Surah then you will be saved from every type of shaytaani in your house and your house will be filled with unlimited types of blessings.
2. Surah Al-Ikhlas
Reason: These two portions are named the Surahs of seeking prevention because they save their readers from all the evils and harms of this world.
3. Surah Al-Falaq Chapter 113 and Surah An-Nas Chapter 114
It is also famously known as Mu’awwidhatayn, meaning that these two Surahs are ready to seek protection from any evil eye or dangers that may reach the reciter at any time.
The regular recitation of these two Surahs by inmates in a house will save their house from all kinds of evil effects.
4. Surah Yasin (Chapter 36)
Also, considering that Surah Yaseen is a general blessing of well-being, its general recitation relates to the house and household.
It should bring peace of mind regarding the issues that the people are facing and above all create blessings in a household.
Thus, general recitation of these Surahs if not independently but alongside other prayers and supplications has very common practices in the world among the Muslims who intend to bring about peace and secure God’s divine luminosity to the world.
